Procedures
Special Note: Many procedures listed below are minimally invasive and carried out with either x-ray or ultrasound guidance. This improves the accuracy, safety, and comfort during the procedure. Some of the more common procedures we offer are listed below:
- Spinal cord stimulators (a device implanted in the spine to attenuate chronic nerve pain transmission).
- Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar interlaminar epidural injections
- Caudal epidural injections
- Transforaminal epidurals and selective nerve root blocks to diagnose and treat nerve pain at a specific nerve root level
- Facet intra-articular joint injections
- Medial Branch Blocks
- Radiofrequency Ablation for neck and back pain. The small nerves to the arthritic joints of the spine are ablated or cauterized to block pain transmission
- Sacroiliac joint injections
- Peripheral nerve and joint injections with corticosteroid or hyaluronic acid, aka “lubricant”: Shoulders, hips and knees. Ultrasound guidance is commonly used for these injections to improve accurate delivery and effectiveness of the medicine. It also improves the comfort of the procedure.
- Sympathetic nerve blocks: Stellate ganglion and lumbar sympathetic, and ganglion impar blocks
- Peripheral nerve blocks for groin and testicular pain (ilioinguinal, iliohypogatric and pudendal nerve blocks)
- Botox for the treatment of chronic migraine (a chronic migraine is defined as having a headache for more than 15 days per month and lasting more than 4 hours per day)
- Botox for the treatment of limb spasticity
- Occipital nerve blocks
- Trigger point injections
